PSYCHIATRIC AWOLs, WE CANNOT FIX THE SYSTEM {PART 1}

To any of you who also want to be AWOLs, something
to remember is that we cannot fix the business of psychiatry.

That is surely disheartening, but can be okay. It must be.

It is a flawed system with imperfect people; so, become an AWOL,
but do not beat yourself up knowing how things will still exist even
after your departure.

We may still accomplish much by leaving and then pointing out the harm done. Making others aware of deceptive businesses, and trying to discourage them from attending, is admirable and helpful; you know it.

It would be up to system to learn from history and want to fix itself. To realize how horrible it be and that its ways result in blogs against it. Indeed, we are asking a lot of. It is, after all, a business and its survival is more important to it than the people it is involved in {mis}treating.

One wonders if, perhaps, in the future it will be made to better itself.
It was foisted upon many of us and others’ decisions were inhumanely
forced … so maybe it needs something to force it to behave? To be
made to receive its own behaviour modification?

The way it can truly be better is from an extreme overhaul where
total honesty about what they do and do not know is enforced.

The requirement of informed consent needs to apply to that profession,
as well at the “first, do no harm” clause which is supposed to matter.

Whenever anything medical or psychiatric starts with decep-
tion, it is worthless in the end … thus, harmful during the process.

Psychiatry has not and cannot fix any human and we are not able to fix it.
Deserters like I cannot repair anything but ourselves. It is easier that way
and less discouraging, so remember that.

Certain societies have this man-made philosophy and system of
psychiatric which changes its ideas all the time or sticks with archaic
topics that remain because they “work” and appeal to some people
{I.E. the vague ‘chemical imbalance’ notion}.

During my stint in the “behavioural health” location, I have been sad at
times because I knew it was flawed and people are putting more trust
into it than God, others, and themselves.

So, what can we do?

We can help ourselves by realizing we have
been misled and then deciding to just start fresh.

We can do projects like this, risking backlash from
disrupting the establishment for the better good.

We can help fix it for some, and hopefully prevent others from being
snared in a dangerous trap, but the practice will remain in its brokenness.

Again, I know that if I had formerly seen something like the blog being
created here, I would have had another item to help in my journey away
from harm and towards recovery.

We have to move forward; all we can do is leave what happened behind.

VERY IMPORTANT: Do not seek “counseling” to cope with the past
misdirection/abuse by psychiatry
. That would be counterproductive.
It would merely show that you are giving a terribly-misguided system
another opportunity to hurt you even further. Do you want to really risk
it? Does it even deserve to feel that it is helping? Surely not.

Do not deny your grief if the system wronged you. You know it, so do
not doubt yourself. After becoming an AWOL, recognize if you are
feeling relief from where you were and know that is meaningful. Real.

When the system matters not at all in your life, it is possible to grow.
This is what I am doing … and enjoying. I love the peace from not
being in the psychiatry/ology system, which was not able to be
understood completely until I was away from its influences.

Life can exist without psychiatry. Do not give it power to rule you.
